Well today was our last day of practice before the season starts. We didn't do much, just took batting practice for a little bit on the field. The whole time I have been here my goal has been to hit a ball over the fence in right center. This is something I normally do at most fields but the reason this was a goal here is because right center is around 400 feet. Well I got one out in right center today and it felt great! Just in time for the season. Today also marked my last day here for a few days. I am heading to North Carolina to watch Michaela graduate from NC State!! I am pretty excited about coming home for a cuople of days to see everyone. I'm leaving nice and early tomorrow morning. My flight is set for 7:35 from Amarillo to Houston. And I get to RDU at 2:17! Woo Hoo! I also can't wait to hit in my cage either. There are a couple of things with my swing that aren't feeling exactly right and hitting at home always seems to fix those problems so that is good.
So my team's first game is tomorrow night. It is going to be really interesting to see how everyone on my team does after these short workouts we have been doing and the little live pitching we have seen. At least my teammates have all gotten at about 15 at bats though which is way better than what I got! While I am home I am going to have to figure out how to take some batting practice off a fast machine to get myself ready for when I return because I will be starting on Sunday evening. Better be ready! I am pretty excited about it. I feel like I will probably do fine because the last time I got in the box against one of our pitchers I was seeing the ball well and felt pretty good. I'm sure it will all just happen. Once you play this game for a long time it starts turning into second nature once the games start. All thinking is out the window and you just see the ball and hit the ball.
I'm not sure if I will be posting while I'm home but I may. We'll see!
